Customer, delivery and product information
An order records the customer, delivery address, order date, requested due date, status, notes and a business reference number.
Attention: A due date in the past distorts planning and shipment reports. Order forms should prevent past due dates.
Each line identifies a product, quantity, unit and relevant price. Product and quantity changes remain visible through order history.
Connecting an order to execution
An order may inform production planning when inventory is insufficient. The order and production records remain linked for operational research.
A shipment may be prepared from order lines. Shipped quantities, product lots and delivery status should remain traceable back to the order.
